I met Vivian when we were both speaking on the same panel last fall. Her authenticity, energy and willingness to share her journey was captivating. I knew then that, in some capacity, her and I would meet again.
Vivian is truly an accidental entrepreneur; she never set out to become an entrepreneur, she literally fell into it. First, in the decor industry and now, as the founder of KinkyCurlyYaki, a hair extension business she started in 2012. In less than 7 years, KinkyCurlyYaki has grown into a multimillion dollar business by catering to a very specific niche clientele; black women.
Her story is authentic and raw, full of learning, failure, triumphs and wins. I don’t think I’ve laughed so much during an interview! Speaking to Vivian was pure magic.
